Terms & Conditions

These Terms and Conditions govern your use of joy-ryde.com and any vehicle rental with Joyryde Limited LLC ("Joyryde," "we," "our," or "us"), a Colorado limited liability company. By booking a vehicle or using our website, you agree to these Terms.

Rates, fees, deposits, mileage allowances, protection options, cancellation windows, and rental term lengths are shown during booking and stated in the Rental Agreement you sign before your rental begins. Where these Terms and your Rental Agreement differ on any of those items, the Rental Agreement controls.

Eligibility

• You must be at least 21 years old and hold a valid, unexpired U.S. driver's license, which you must carry whenever you drive the vehicle
• You must provide accurate personal, license, and payment information and keep it current during your rental
• You consent to identity and license verification and, for long-term rentals, a motor vehicle record check
• Only drivers named on the Rental Agreement may operate the vehicle

Rental Types

• Short-term rentals are billed by the day for the pickup and return dates you select
• Long-term rentals are billed on a recurring cycle, carry a minimum commitment, and then continue on a rolling basis until cancelled

Booking Approval, Cancellation & Substitution by Joyryde

• A substitute vehicle of the same or a comparable category is not a cancellation and does not entitle you to a refund or credit
• You waive any claim for costs resulting from a cancellation, non-fulfillment, delay, or substitution, including replacement rentals, transportation, lodging, lost time, lost income, or missed events
• Refunds go to the original payment method. A fee identified at booking as non-refundable is refunded only when Joyryde cancels for reasons other than your breach, a failed verification, or a false statement at booking
• No refund is owed when Joyryde terminates a rental for your breach of these Terms

Rates & Billing

• Joyryde uses Stripe to process payments. By booking, you authorize charges to your payment method on file for all amounts due under your Rental Agreement, including recurring charges on long-term rentals and any additional charges you incur under these Terms
• You must keep a valid payment method on file for the full rental. A declined charge is a breach and may result in suspension or termination of the rental
• Joyryde may collect a security deposit or place an authorization hold, or both. Holds are released after the vehicle is returned and inspected, less any amounts you owe
• Long-term rates may change on 7 days written notice. A change does not apply to a billing cycle already paid

Mileage

• Every rental includes a mileage allowance. Miles beyond the allowance are billed at the overage rate on your next billing cycle or, for short-term rentals, at return
• If you have opted in to text messages, Joyryde may send a courtesy alert as you approach your allowance. A missed alert does not waive overage charges
• Mileage is measured by the vehicle's GPS device. Tampering with, disabling, or obstructing it is a material breach

Protection, Insurance & Damage

• Every rental requires a protection selection at booking. Coverage, responsibility amounts, and pricing for each option are disclosed there
• Liability coverage is provided by a licensed third-party insurer named at booking and is governed by that insurer's policy terms
• Physical damage protection offered by Joyryde is a contractual waiver of Joyryde's right to recover certain damage costs from you. It is not insurance, and Joyryde is not an insurer
• No protection option covers loss resulting from a Prohibited Use, an unauthorized driver, a breach of these Terms, or a false statement at booking. In those cases you owe the full cost of repair or replacement, loss of use, diminished value, and related administrative costs
• You are responsible for any loss not covered by your selected option, up to the responsibility amount in your Rental Agreement
• You must report any accident, damage, theft, or vandalism to Joyryde within 24 hours and cooperate with any claim, including providing a police report where one was made
• Amounts you owe for damage are due when invoiced and may be charged to your payment method on file

Additional Charges

The following are charged to you at the rates in the fee schedule shown at booking:

• Tolls, parking charges, traffic and camera citations, impound fees, and other fines incurred during your rental, plus an administrative fee per item
• Refueling or recharging when the vehicle is returned below the level recorded at pickup
• Cleaning and odor remediation. Smoking, vaping, and unapproved pets are prohibited
• Lost keys, fobs, or accessories, at replacement cost plus labor
• Late returns, which may also be treated as unauthorized use

Prohibited Use

The following are strictly prohibited and constitute a material breach:

• Racing, off-roading, or any use that would void the applicable insurance or protection product
• Towing or hauling of any kind without written approval
• Subleasing, lending, or providing the vehicle to anyone not named on the Rental Agreement
• Rideshare, delivery, courier, or other commercial use, unless your Rental Agreement expressly authorizes it and the required coverage is in place
• Driving outside the continental United States, or outside any area stated in your Rental Agreement, without written approval
• Driving under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or any impairing substance
• Transporting hazardous materials, carrying more passengers than seat belts, or using the vehicle in any unlawful manner

Joyryde may locate, immobilize where equipped, and recover a vehicle used in breach of this section, at your cost.

Your Cancellation & Return

• Short-term rentals: the cancellation window and any fee are shown at booking. Unused days on an early return are not refunded
• Long-term rentals: after the minimum commitment, you may cancel with the written notice period in your Rental Agreement. Partial billing periods are not refunded
• Any fee identified at booking as non-refundable is not refunded for early return, voluntary termination, or vehicle substitution
• Return the vehicle to the location, on the date, and in the condition stated in your Rental Agreement, normal wear excepted
• Joyryde may terminate a rental immediately for a material breach. You must return the vehicle on demand, and Joyryde may recover it if you do not

Maintenance & Roadside

• Report warning lights, mechanical issues, and damage promptly. Do not authorize repairs without Joyryde's written approval; unapproved repairs are not reimbursed
• Long-term renters must deliver the vehicle to Joyryde's designated service location within 48 hours of a maintenance notice. Failure to do so is a material breach
• Joyryde credits long-term renters for documented downtime from Joyryde-initiated maintenance that exceeds 24 hours, excluding downtime caused by renter damage or misuse
• Roadside assistance, where offered, is described at booking. Costs from a Prohibited Use, lockout, lost keys, running out of fuel or charge, or negligence are charged to you

Operations Partners

Joyryde uses authorized third-party partners to deliver, hand off, inspect, clean, maintain, and recover vehicles. Their instructions on pickup, return, inspection, and maintenance are Joyryde's instructions. Partners cannot modify these Terms or your Rental Agreement.

GPS Tracking & Monitoring

All Joyryde vehicles are equipped with GPS tracking. By renting, you consent to continuous monitoring of the vehicle's location, mileage, speed, and usage for fleet management, billing, security, recovery, and insurance purposes. Location data may be shared with law enforcement, insurers, and recovery services as needed to protect the vehicle or as required by law. SMS Communications

Text messages are optional. You opt in only by checking the unchecked SMS consent box on the booking form; consent is never a condition of renting. Program terms, message frequency, rates, and STOP and HELP instructions are on our SMS Terms page.

Electronic Signature

Typing your full legal name in the signature field during booking creates a legally binding electronic signature under the federal E-SIGN Act and the Colorado Uniform Electronic Transactions Act. Your typed name, IP address, and timestamp are the signature record. You agree to receive your Rental Agreement and related notices at the email address you provide.

Limitation of Liability

Vehicles are provided as-is, with no warranty beyond those Colorado law does not allow us to disclaim. Joyryde does not guarantee that any particular vehicle, or any vehicle, will be available on your dates. For cancellation, non-fulfillment, delay, or substitution, Joyryde's liability is limited to the refund described under Booking Approval, Cancellation & Substitution above. For any other claim, Joyryde's liability shall not exceed the rental charges you actually paid for the affected rental period. Joyryde is not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages, lost income, or personal property left in a vehicle. You agree to indemnify Joyryde for claims, losses, and costs, including reasonable attorney fees, arising from your use of the vehicle or breach of these Terms.

Governing Law & Disputes

These Terms are governed by Colorado law. Disputes arising from these Terms or any Rental Agreement shall be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts in Denver County, Colorado, and you consent to their jurisdiction. To the extent permitted by law, you waive the right to participate in any class or representative action against Joyryde.

Changes to These Terms

Joyryde may modify these Terms at any time by posting the revised version here with a new effective date. Continued use of our services after that constitutes acceptance. The version in effect when you sign your Rental Agreement governs that rental.
